2007 Edinburgh Festival

This continues to be the world's largest arts festival with an excellent phenomenal record of success since it started in 1947. Indeed it has been described as a cultural explosion, no less noisy for the fact that it is predictable each year. The Edinburgh Festival(external link) takes place each year in August/ September.

This year, the Edinburgh festival's openiing concert will be on Friday 10 August, two days earlier than usual this will have the effect of increasing the length of the Edinburgh Festival by one weekend. Tickets are already on sale (from 14 April).

The Starbucks Jazz Festival(external link) has an excellent promgramme running from 28 July to 6 August and tickets for this and for other events can be obtained by telephoning 0131 473 2000 and 0131 463 5200.

And remember to check out the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which runs in parallel with the Edinburgh Festival . Please note that the Fringe dates for 2007 are 5-27 August.
